Phase 1 of the refurbishment has been completed and the snagging issues hopefully resolved.

Phase 2 is now due to start on 10th January and will last approx. 6 weeks, although this is dependant on material supplies, but fingers crossed!

This 2nd phase consists of various works both external and internally throughout the building:

  • To the front of the hall the new disabled ramp will be installed
  • The stonework to the front elevation will be repointed and new windows installed to Harbour View Bar.
  • The old oil tank will also be replaced.
  • Internally, acoustic panels will be fitted in the main hall, bar and skittle alley to improve and enhance the acoustics of the spaces.
  • The bar will also have a feature wall installed and various other works to improve the overall finish and ambiance of the bar.
  • New stage lighting will be installed in the main hall.
  • Looking after our youngest visitors there will be a new baby changing facility installed in the disabled toilet on the ground floor.
  • Various other works including door openers/closers, damp proofing, lighting, extractors to enable the hall to continue to serve the community for years to come.

It is anticipated there will be minimum disruption whilst these works are carried out and once completed the hall can finally have its Grand Reopening!
